Biography

Born in North Carolina and raised in Shanghai, Cecilia is a passionate composer who loves exploring patterns, theatrics and stories. Gaining music experience from performance, computer music production as well as original music composition, Cecilia sees music as a power to create, a way to connect and a motivation to learn. Serving as both stories they create and experiments they challenge themself with, Cecilia’s compositions are characterized as humorous, dramatic, and bizarre. They are projections of Cecilia’s imagination of the world, and thoughts about people, including self and others, the real and unreal.

Aside from their own compositions, Cecilia also loves to expand their musical experiences, sharing it with others and discovering how music associates with other fields. Recently, Cecilia has also completed a research about applications of music in preliminary education, hoping make learning a more enjoyable process to children with effective usage of music.

Now an undergraduate student of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, Cecilia aims to continue their musical journey as a composer, singer and researcher. In their leisure time, they enjoy reading, cooking, experimenting with fashion and walking around the city.
